HB 2535    RELATING TO CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS        HLT, JHA
        FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
        The purpose of this Act is to authorize the 
        Department of Health to obtain criminal history record
        information for prospective employees, service
        providers, and sub-contractors of the Department of
        Health, who work in close proximity with clients when
        providing medical, mental health, or substance abuse
        services. (Say, B/R)
        
HB 2524    RELATING TO PROPHYLACTICS.                    HLT, FIN
        The purpose of this bill is to eliminate the 
        statutory requirement for rules regulating the sale of 
        prophylactics. (Say, B/R)

HB 2532    RELATING TO HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS             HLT, FIN
        CORPORATION.
        To authorize the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to 
        issue hospital revenue bonds for $38,000,000 and to
        authorize the department of budget and finance to 
        guaranty the bonds, and appropriate such funds for
        plans, site development, construction, improvement,
        equipment, and furnishings to include a diagnostic and
        progressive care center adjacent to Maui Memorial 
        Center. (Say, B/R)

 
HB 2833    RELATING TO DENTAL INSURANCE.            HLT, CPC, FIN
        Permits a patient to direct an insurer plan to
        directly reimburse a nonparticipating dental provider.

HB 2534    RELATING TO CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITALS.        HLT, FIN
        To enhance the federal Medicare Rural Hospital 
        Flexibility Program by providing for reimbursement to
        critical access hospitals on a cost basis under the 
        Medicaid programs using matching federal funds.

HB 2747    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONDUCT A NEEDS    HLT, FIN
        ASSESSMENT OF HOME- AND COMMUNITY-BASED TREATMENT
        PROGRAMS FOR THE INSTITUTIONALIZED MENTALLY ILL, 
        INCLUDING FORENSIC PATIENTS.
        Appropriates $    to the DOH to conduct a needs 
        assessment of home- and community-based treatment 
        programs for the institutionalized mentally ill, 
        including forensic patients, to comply with current
        federal requirements. (Kahikina)

HB 2394    RELATING TO HEALTH CARE.                      HLT, FIN
        Appropriates funds to support health care for the 
        medically underserved. (Santiago) 

HB 2393    RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS         HLT, FIN
        CORPORATION.
        Requires the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to 
        submit a strategic plan to the Legislature prior to
        eliminating long-term care beds from any of its
        facilities. (Santiago)

HB 2002    RELATING TO PROTECTION OF HEALTH          HLT, CPC/JHA
        INFORMATION BY PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURERS.
        Provides for administration of protected health 
        information that is used, maintained, collected, 
        disclosed by property and casualty insurers.
